Diving at dive site the Cathedral is just in front of the fishing harbor called Ajui. Ajui is a village on the west coast of Fuerteventura and its waters contain huge caves, overhangs and other volcanic rock formations. The best time to do this dive is during summer because of the Trade Winds which can sometimes be really strong. The coast line is much more dramatic with fantastic, submerged volcanic formation offering spectacular landscapes. The diving point is at the end of the black sand beach, where it meets the cliffs, close to the shore. The coastal shelf in this area is particularly narrow, suddenly reaching depths of 2000m. The whole seabed is formed of black basaltic rocks and it is full of underwater canals and grottoes, like petrified rivers of lava enjoining a singular submarine landscape in labyrinths full of fauna.

Life forms are glass eyes, greater locust lobsters, dusky groupers, comb groupers, white bream, zebra bream Turkish wrasse, and above striped barracudas, guelly and almaco jacks etc. The sea is usually very lively and diving here is quite difficult and only recommended in summer. We dive at the last visible rock with to the north a small grotto 10 meters in length illuminated with a hole in his ceiling. There you turn left towards the south where we enter a parallel canal in waters of 12 meters deep with a huge rock as a roof presenting a spectacular landscape. Towards the right you will find another canal with cave in it.
