Diving Cueva de Neptuno often starts with exploring the cave followed by drifting to its nearby canyons.

Diving at Cueva de Neptuno is very unusual, the cave itself is quite safe to enter and explore and it is also incredibly beautiful as there is a large school of bright red glass eye living inside, as well as moray eels and resting stingrays. After visiting the cave we normally drift with the current and explore the surrounding canyons.
In the winter months this is the best place to get up close to Angel Sharks, sometimes sleeping in the sand but often swimming around. The drift direction is "current dependent" often taking us into deep water, so good buoyancy skill and a delayed surface marker buoy are worth having. Some of the biggest rays we have seen have been found on this dive. There is an abundance of life year round but it is a favorite and regular dive more so in the Winter.
