15 minutes by boat takes us to La Caleta reef, a series of rocks jutting above the surface which carry on as an underwater wall, 10 meters high cutting through the sand for several hundred meters. This makes an excellent drift dive, so after sending up the anchor, the boat follows us for the duration of the dive. There can be strong currents and some days you don't even need to fin, just chill-out and watch the underwater world glide by! At the half way mark there is a big school of Roncadores and the wall has a big overhang where stingrays are often found asleep. One day we counted 9 piled on top of each other. Dive site La Caleta is an easy but truly memorable afternoon dive.
