Veril Grande or Morro Jable is one of the southern dive sites of Fuerteventura in front of the lighthouse at Matorral. Marked by buoys about 200 meters from shore, the barrier is a wall starting at 20m and falling down to 40m, growing moving away from shore.
Life forms: There is a meadow of garden eels on the upper surface and black morays, cardinal fish, dusky groupers, arrow crabs, common stingrays etc. In the cracks, also some big predators like barracudas and almaco jacks can be found. Occasionally, coinciding with migratory periods, you will see some large specimens of small devil ray. There are two options of diving, following the contour of the barrier at 20m depth or descend to the foot of the barrier at 35m depth and return.
